Time for a Reboot-The Great American Eclipse August 21

This eclipse is a big deal. Everyone is talking about it. Children have the day off from school. People are traveling to eclipse hot spots all over the US. Eclipse glasses are being sold everywhere. Traffic in peak eclipse towns is anticipated to be horrendous.

If this is the first you are hearing about The Great American Eclipse go here to learn more about what you can expect where you live. This is a significant astronomical event astronomers are watching closely.

Astrologers are, of course, watching this celestial event closely as well.

Why?

First off, it is a relatively rare occurrence. This will be the first eclipse to traverse the US in 99 years. Additionally, it will encompass the entire continental United States from Oregon to South Carolina.

From an astrological point of view where an eclipse manifests most strongly is where the energetic effects are heightened. Another important point, is the energetic shift of an eclipse is meant to last through the weeks leading up to the eclipse and the months and years after the main event. Eclipse cycles happen every 18.5 years. Thus, this eclipse is setting the stage for the beginning of the next cycle lasting the next 19 years. Likewise looking back at past cycles can help us understand what to anticipate now.

  • In 1998 we saw a Solar Eclipse in the same family (aka saros series) and that year impeachment hearings began for Former president Bill Clinton.
  • In 1981 there was an assassination attempt on former President Ronald Reagan.
  • 1963 was the year JFK was assassinated.
  • 1945 Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombed.

Additionally, if you are at all in the astrological “know”, you have likely heard astrologers excitedly discussing the auspicious placement of the eclipse in Presidents Trump’s chart. That, and the conjunct placement of the “little king” star Regulus (which recently moved into feminine Virgo), certainly adds an interesting layer to this current cycle. There is no doubt this eclipse is poignant and powerful with a laser beam focus on the United States in general and our current political leaders specifically.   (If that sort of thing interests you, just google it. There’s a plethora of info out there.)

In this post I am going to focus more on what the eclipse means to YOU personally but please apply the data to the collective consciousness as well.

So, what is the learning?

change

Whether that is change is challenging or easy is a matter of perspective. Change by definition often pushes us out of our comfort zone.

What kind of change?

Think of a solar eclipse like a enormous reset button. For a moment, the moon (which is 400 times smaller but also 400 times closer to Earth) is going to cover the sun. For a moment, the power will go out before the system restarts. I liken it to the process of restarting our technology when it gets buggy. Often the first line of defense is to log out and log back in or simply reboot the system.

It is time for a system reboot in your life.

Situations will likely arise this year that will allow for this reset in the months and years to follow. In fact this whole year is a build up to this new cycle.

All eclipses represent big shifts and times of completion. They represent the end of a cycle and thus, the beginning of a new one. Eclipses bring new information to our world. A mix of exhilaration and overwhelm, eclipses just intensify the energy at play.

Hidden truths come to light, and we see things more clearly. Situations become uncovered and revealed. New data and information emerge that allows us some new sense of understanding. Revelations occur that offer new choice points.

The light goes dark before it returns symbolizing something unexpected may happen to wake us up to a new truth or perspective.

Where is that energetic restart happening in our lives?

The Eclipse itself is at 28 degrees Leo. Find that degree in your chart (if you need help with that contact me). The house it resides in, and aspects it makes will tell you more specifically where and how this energy is showing up in your life.

In general the Leo reboot looks like:

Leo is the sign of leaders, rulesr, and kings. It represents the part of us that exudes charisma, magnetism, creativity and inspiration, and how we show it to the world. Personally and collectively, it is time to assess our authority, drive, creative expression, and power and evaluate how we use this energy in our lives. Leo is unique, bold, and makes a statement of authenticity that ignites a fire within ourselves that can inspire others.

Yet, intention is everything. When Leo sides with authentic, grounded and humble heart-based truth, it is brilliant in the way it can encourage, excite, and even galvanize a crowd. When Leo goes wrong, it makes an impact too, resulting at best in need of validation, accolades and reward and at worst narcissism, tyranny, dictatorship, and autocracy.

Personally and collectively, pride can be a spark of insight or the beginning of a fall.

Like the lion it represents, we each have the ability to lead our lives from a place of authentic truth or ego grandiosity. We also have the ability to choose leaders that do the same.
A real leader is one that leads with the heart, not the ego. Steadfast and vigorous in authenticity they lead with the end in mind. This type of leadership is a brilliant blaze igniting each of us to become part of a bigger passion and purpose.

The other kind of leadership is based in fear, control, and manipulation hustling for power in treacherous ways. In this way, falsehood quickly becomes fact when dominated by hubris and insecurity and pride blinds us to the actual truth.

How are you leading your own life?

Are you leading your life through love or fear, evolution or habit?

Are you grounded in your heart-based truth or fear-based stories and spells?

What part of you is channeling your desire? Your soul or ego?

When is your inner critic sabotaging your joy?

What limits your capacity to be truly authentic?

What lights you up?

It is time to break free of all of that is holding you back so you can shine.

We must all connect back to our hearts and lead from this place of truth. This reboot is a reset to LOVE, not fear. We must reconnect back to our hearts and allow a new light to illuminate our lives.

Life is way too short to be anything than who you truly are.

Life is way too short to settle or allow fear to lead the way.

It only takes one small flame to create a wildfire and one spark of truth to create a movement.

And LOVE  always wins.
